Fairway Chiropractic: Back to School Neck, Back, and Shoulder Pains

With school right around the corner once again, it is important for families to think about the supplies that they are going to need. One of the most exciting parts of going back to school is the new backpacks that kids get to shop for. Of course, this also comes with a few reminders from the trusted chiropractors from Fairway Chiropractic. Every family in the Kitchener, ON area should keep a few important points in mind regarding possible neck, back, and shoulder pains stemming from a backpack.

Watch the Weight of the Backpack

One of the major concerns that parents and children have is the possible neck pain, back pain, and shoulder pain that might come from the backpack. One of the ways to keep this pain from developing is to try to keep the weight of the backpack to a minimum. We understand that kids need to take their materials from class to class and will need to take some items home. As much as possible, try to rely on papers or digital formatting. Keep the textbooks either in the locker or at home. This will keep the weight to a minimum.

Try a Rolling Backpack if Possible

If at all possible, keep the weight off of the neck, back, and shoulders entirely. There are rolling backpacks that make a great alternative to the typical over the shoulder pack. These rolling packs are a great way to give the neck and back rest. Why not check out the school’s website and see if these neat alternatives are allowed.

See a Trained Chiropractor
