At Disc Repair Clinic, we specialize in non-surgical spinal decompression therapy to help patients suffering from chronic back and neck pain find long-term relief. Using the SpineMED® table, the most advanced decompression technology available, we provide a targeted, research-backed approach to treating conditions like
We don’t just aim to relieve pain, we focus on full spinal restoration. That’s why we follow a structured 25-session treatment plan, based on clinical findings that show most disc herniations aren’t fully reversed before this mark, even if pain subsides earlier. Each session averages $200, and many patients explore coverage through their employer’s Health Spending Account.
We are overjoyed with the results SpineMED® delivers, and the success stories speak for themselves. If you’re ready to take the first step toward real recovery, without surgery or medication, book your free phone consultation today.
Our spinal decompression treatment stands apart because we use the advanced SpineMED® System, a next-generation table designed to overcome the limitations of older decompression devices. The founders of SpineMED® brought years of experience from working with other spinal decompression manufacturers, allowing them to develop a system that eliminates outdated harnesses, bulky designs, and ineffective traction components. Instead, the SpineMED® table features a patented restraint system, an exclusive pelvic tilt mechanism, and precise computer-controlled adjustments. These innovations provide a much safer, more targeted, comfortable, and effective treatment experience, maximizing spinal relief while minimizing discomfort. This state-of-the-art approach ensures that our patients receive the safest and most scientifically refined spinal decompression therapy available today.
During a SpineMED® spinal decompression session, you’ll lie comfortably on the table while gentle, controlled cycles of traction and relaxation are applied to your spine. Unlike traditional traction, most patients feel little to no sensation. This is intentional to prevent muscle spasms and allow for optimal decompression.
Each 30-minute session consists of 20 cycles of gentle traction and relaxation, with a monitor displaying the process – so you can know every step of the way what is happening to your spine. Many patients find the experience so relaxing that they even fall asleep! You should never feel increased pain. If you do, the technician will adjust the settings.
Each treatment session lasts 30 minutes, and the expert-recommended number of sessions is 25 to achieve full results. Based on clinical experience and research, 25 sessions are necessary to effectively reverse disc herniation. Typically, you will attend 3 sessions per week, completing the full program in just over 8 weeks for optimal recovery.
However, if you’re looking to accelerate your treatment, it’s possible to schedule 2 sessions per day, which would allow you to complete the program in as little as 12 days (on weekdays only).
No, the treatment is not supposed to cause any pain or discomfort. If you experience any increase in pain, it’s important to notify the technician immediately. They will pause the therapy and adjust the tension to a level where you feel no pain at all. The goal is for you to feel comfortable and relaxed during each session.
If you’ve tried various treatments like chiropractic care, physiotherapy, osteopathy, massage, or cortisone injections without relief, SpineMED® decompression therapy is worth considering. It’s a non-surgical, drug-free solution for individuals suffering from conditions such as:
If you experience any of these issues and are seeking a non-invasive treatment option, you may be a good candidate for SpineMED® decompression therapy.
You are not a candidate for SpineMED® treatment if you have any of the following conditions:
Post-surgical patients are not automatically ineligible unless they have surgical hardware fixation in the area being treated. In fact, individuals with failed back surgery may benefit from SpineMED® treatment.
Some individuals experience positive changes as early as their first 5 sessions. However, most people begin to notice significant improvements in pain and function after around 15 sessions. To achieve long-term relief and resolution of symptoms, 25 sessions are required. Each session has a cumulative healing effect, which is why it’s important to commit to a minimum of 3 sessions per week to see the best results. Note that healing continues to take place beyond the 25 sessions. And many individuals’ symptoms such as numbness/tingling or drop-foot continues to improve over the coming months following the treatment program. This is because now that the pressure is off the nerve, the nerve can finally breathe and heal – which takes time.
The cost for 25 sessions of SpineMED® treatment ranges from $5000 to $5375, depending on the payment option you choose.

Insurance coverage for spinal decompression therapy varies depending on your provider and policy. Some insurance plans may cover a portion of the treatment, especially if it’s deemed medically necessary. We understand that this is not a light commitment. As such, we highly recommend you take the time to book a free phone consultation with Dr. Nik to ensure all your questions are answered before making a decision. Spend the time to listen to the success stories, as these individuals have been where you are now. And what they say will also likely answer many of your questions. It’s best to check with your insurance provider to determine what is covered under your plan and whether you need pre-authorization.
A doctor’s referral is not required to begin spinal decompression therapy at our clinic. However, if you have a specific medical condition or injury, we recommend discussing the treatment with your healthcare provider to ensure it’s the right fit for you. Our team is happy to collaborate with your physician to provide the best care possible. Additionally, if you have any questions about if you would be a good candidate or not because of certain conditions you may have – feel free to take advantage of booking a free phone consultation with Dr. Nik at 519-748-5535
Here’s what one German orthopedic surgeon told the CEO of SpineMED® at a recent international conference before going on the stage to lecture about a spinal surgical procedure:
“Out of every 10 patients I see, only 2 are surgical candidates. The other 8, I put on your decompression table with amazing results!”
A study published in 2013 followed 118 patients with lumbar disc herniations for 1 year and 7 months following their course of SpineMed Spinal Decompression Therapy.
The study included patients varying in age from 18 to 82 yrs with an average of 53.
The length of time patients were in pain prior to starting the therapy ranged from 8 days to 30 years.
The average rating of pain severity prior to starting was 8.9/10 (where 0/10 = no pain, and 10/10 = worst pain ever experienced).
THIS IS WHAT THE STUDY FOUND:
Some individuals see positive changes within their first 5 sessions.
However, most take up to 15 sessions before noticing significant improvements with their pain and function.
25 Sessions are most often required to achieve long term resolution of symptoms.
A cumulative healing effect occurs with each session (which is why you need a minimum of 3 sessions per week).
If you have tried everything to stop the debilitating pain coming from your neck or lower back, including Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Massage, Cortizone Injections..
Then, SpineMed Decompression is strongly worth considering.
SpineMED® is a non-surgical, drug-free procedure for patients suffering pain caused by:
You ARE NOT a candidate for SpineMED® if you have:
Damaged intervertebral discs seldom heal because they remain under constant pressure, even while a person is at rest. SpineMED® Decompression is designed to reduce pressure inside the discs by gently separating or distracting the injured spinal segments.
Under distraction, pressure on the disc is relieved; allowing fluids, nutrients and oxygen to flow back into the disc. This nutrient exchange helps the body’s natural rebuilding process and can accelerate the repair and eventually heal damaged spinal discs.
In addition, a reduction of intradiscal pressures will help draw the nucleus of a bulging or herniated disc back into the centre, thereby relieving pressure on a compressed nerve root—alleviating the problem and the pain or numbness.
An inversion table provides traction to the spine. This is similar to the SpineMed decompression table. However, the differences are the following:
Most people assume they will feel their spine being stretched, and they look forward to it!
However, with SpineMed Decompression, most people feel nothing during the therapy. I know that may seem disappointing, but this is on purpose – it is to ensure only just enough traction to occur to the spine without a resulting ‘fighting-back’ response by the body in the form of muscle spasms.
That being said, more people do feel some traction with the neck procedure.
It is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during the procedure.
Over a period of 30 minutes there will be 20 cycles of 60 seconds of traction, and 30 seconds of relaxation.
A monitor will be in front of your eyes so you can see when the traction is occurring.
You should never feel increased pain during your time on the table as a result of the traction. If you do, you must notify the technician immediately and the amount of traction force will be reduced.
Research shows that to reverse Disc Herniations 25 sessions are optimal for success.
Each session has a cumulative effect, designed to significantly reduce pain and improve function as patients progress through the SpineMED® program.
Most will feel significant improvement within 10-15 sessions. And some lucky ones even notice a difference within their first 5 sessions.
For Neck Pain,
The cervical unit is first electronically tilted to the angle required to target specific segments of the cervical spine. The patient is then placed on the table with their head positioned in the cervical cradle unit. The patented Cervical Restraints are designed to comfortably capture the base of the patient’s skull for controlled distraction.
For Low Back Pain,
The patient is comfortably positioned lying down face upward, knees bent and resting on the bolster. The Patented Pelvic Restraints are adjusted to comfortably secure the patient’s pelvis. The Patented Pelvic Tilt section electronically tilts the pelvis to target the specific injured spinal segments. Then with precise computer controlled tension, the specific disc segment is gently distracted.
Each treatment session takes 30 minutes and 25 Sessions is the expert recommended number of sessions for full treatment.
Based on clinical experience from multiple orthopaedic surgeons in Europe who use SpineMed Decompression Tables, and the published research, most people require 25 visits to reverse their disc herniation.
Minimum requirement is 3 sessions per week (which means just over 8 weeks to completion of treatment program)
Fastest you can go is 2 sessions per day (so 10 sessions per week – actually in hospital settings in Germany, they will have patients go on the table 2x/week with 3 hours between sessions for 25 days straight (including weekends).
No it does not hurt. You are not supposed to feel any pain at all. So, if there is any bit of increased pain, you must notify the technician immediately, and they will pause the therapy and decrease the pounds of tension decompressing your spine to a level where you feel zero pain.
Most people do not even feel like anything is happening! This can be disappointing for some, as they are dreaming of a stretching feeling in their spine. This is because of the way the SpineMed Decompression table is designed. The pelvic restraints for lower back decompression and head restraints for neck decompression anchors onto your body to pull you / traction you with very little force in comparison to all the other decompression tables on the market.
For example, some decompression tables pull on your body with a tension force of 70 -120lbs. In comparison, the SpineMed table achieves decompression of the spine with an average of 10 – 15% of the patient’s body weight (which is 20-25lbs for a 200lb person).
Why such a difference between the table brands? The older table brands use harnesses made from seatbelt-like material attached to a cable or chain connected to a motor that pulls. There is a lot of ‘loss of energy’ in this system, and so a large pulling force is required to achieve the desired small traction force at the level of the disc.
SpineMed table on the other hand is a metal restraint with soft gel-like padding that cradles the body and anchors it to the table. The metal restraint is attached directly into the metal motor. So when the motor pulls, there is zero loss of energy, and as a result much less force is required to achieve the desired amount of traction to the injured spinal segments.
The high tension force required by the other decompression table brands means you feel like you’re being stretched. Which feels nice, until it doesn’t! That much force increases the risk of your muscles fighting back into a spasm – which then increases compression on the injured spine and an increase in your pain.
SpineMed Decompression Table has an almost zero risk of muscle spasm, and because such a small amount of tension force is required, even patients in their 90s with complete confidence of safety. (the oldest patient to go on the SpineMed table is 94 who participated in a research study with successful results)
Regarding SpineMed Therapy to the neck… It is more common to feel some traction/stretching. This is primarily because there are so many more nerve receptors in the neck than the lower back, making it much more sensitive. But again, no pain should be increased at any time from the therapy.
YES!
Here’s a little history for you:
Prior to becoming involved in the design and manufacturing of the SpineMED® System, the founders of SpineMED® worked for a number of other spinal decompression table manufacturers.
Based on their years of clinical experience, and feedback gained from healthcare professionals in the field, the SpineMED® system was designed to overcome the limitations and untoward side-effects found with previous devices. Cumbersome nylon harnesses, outdated tower design, and antiquated traction components have been eliminated and replaced with a patented restraint system, exclusive pelvic tilt mechanism and advanced computer controls.
The result: The most effective, safe and advanced Spinal Decompression table on the market!
No it does not. They have two different points of focus.
Let’s consider this analogy:
If you want the car to run smoothly, you need to address both concerns.
The human body is much more complex than an automobile.
Our body has the innate ability to heal itself!
A chiropractor’s objective is to improve spinal alignment, which removes stress off your nervous system, allowing for the body to heal itself as best it can.
The SpineMed Decompression Table’s objective is specific to reducing pressure on the disc, creating a vacuum effect and reversing the disc herniation. (essentially fixing the flat tire)
